Do you have a job?
Not currently.

Do you have any formal singing training?
Aside from the one voice class a week I take at Howard, no I don't. The class is called Voice for Musical Theatre.

Where have you performed before?
In the university productions of Ain't Misbehavin', a revue called Black Broadway and
Timbuktu! Also a production of Little Shop of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar in Germany.

When did you first start to sing?
I don't remember when I started, it's just been something I always enjoy doing. I didn't know how good I was until high school.

What is your favorite song to sing?
"And I Am Telling You."

What is the first concert you went to?
Karen Clark of the
Clark Sisters.

What is the last concert you went to?
Sade's Lover's Rock.

What other talents do you have?
Doing make-up, I have acting training, and I dance a little bit.

If you don't make it on AMERICAN IDOL, what will you do?
I will go back to DC, finish my degree & graduate.

What are your goals in life?
To be the first full-figured pop star/sex symbol, and to use the power and money that come with that to open a performing arts conservatory in my neighborhood.

What album would your friends be surprised you own?
George Bizet's Carmen with Leontyne Price singing the role of Carmen.

What is the first CD you ever bought?
No Doubt, "Tragic Kingdom." I bought it in high school.

What is in your CD player right now?
"The Life" original Broadway cast soundtrack.

I don't have one. I love so many. Jazz and R&B.

I have too many to write only one.

Prince.

Favorite female pop artist?
Madonna, Whitney Houston.

Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly" soundtrack.

Who in the music world do you think your style is most like?
No one. I am unique.

Most embarrassing moment?
When I was performing in Jesus Christ Superstar and my heel of my shoe broke during the finale choreography & I fell on my butt, centerstage.

If you couldn't sing, which talent would you most like to have?
To be able to do ballet.

What has been your proudest moment in life so far?
Other than getting back in school after not having the money and not being there for a year, this experience has been the proudest moment cause I worked so hard.

What is your definition of an AMERICAN IDOL?
An American Idol is someone who sets trends instead of following them, and they are some one who can redefine what is idolized.

Why do you want to be an AMERICAN IDOL?
Because I want to be an inspiration to young girls and use my gift to do that & I believe that being an American Idol will allow me to do that.

Do you think the audition process was fair?
Yes, very.

Who is your favorite judge and why?
Simon because he is honest. Brutally.

Who is your least favorite judge and why?

What advice do you have for other hopefuls?
Just pray (to whatever God you believe in), and try your best to perfect your craft.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
People would probably be surprised to learn that I'm flexible & I can move well.

Who did you think was going to win last season?
I didn't watch.

If you could be a performer from any era, which would you choose and why?
A blues/jazz singer or Cotton Club performer during Harlem Renaissance.
