CANDICE COLEMAN: Candice sang "Piece of My Heart" in Group 2. She looked very comfortable, and her tone was very clear. She had a "smoky" sound, as Paula likes to say. I think Candice really should have gone farther than she did. She wasn't given enough credit!
CHIP DAYS: Chip sang "Song For You" in Group 4. Obviously the judges felt Chip had a good voice as well, as they brought him back for the Wildcard group, where he sang "Rock With You." For some reason, Simon never really liked Chip, and really criticized his Wildcard performance, although I felt it was very, very good. I think Chip has a strong pop voice, and we will see more of him, no doubt.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: For those of you that don't know, Frenchie was eliminated before her performance with Group 4 because she posed in a lingerie for an adult website. The site is now under new management and is now considered a porn site, although it wasn't when Frenchie posed for it. She was scheduled to sing "I Have Nothing," which she later sang exclusively for "Entertainment Tonight" after her elimination. Juanita Barber replaced her.
From her first performance, I wanted Frenchie to win the whole competition, and I think she WOULD have, had she been given a fair chance. I think with the history of crime, etc. in this competition, she was unfairly eliminated. I mean, Nikki McKibbin was a stripper for God's sake, and she went to the Final 3. It just doesn't seem fair to me. To see Frenchie's "porn" pictures (which are by no means porn), click on the link below.
HADAS SHALEV: I liked Hadas from the minute I heard her sing, although I was pretty sure she would not get into the Top 12. She performed in Group 2, singing "You Light Up My Life," an interesting choice of song, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I thought she had good stage presence, and she had a clear tone. If you, like me, liked Hadas, check out the Hadas Fansite on the WWW page. Make sure to click on the Hadas Shalev button. At that site, you can listen to Hadas' original songs, which are VERY VERY good! I can't wait until she gets a record deal, because I will definitely buy her CD!
J.D. ADAMS: J.D. sang "All is Fair in Love" in Group 1. I immediately thought that he was one of the best performers there. He looked good, he sang well, and he worked the camera. I was incredibly surprised when he was not called back for the Wildcard round, because I strongly believe he was one of the best performers in the competition. I believe J.D. could have gone very far, if only given the chance, and I don't think we've seen the last of him.
KIMBERLY KELSEY: Most people would say that Kimberly Kelsey is a rather bizzare choice for an unfair elimination, but I would have to disagree. I did not like Kim when I saw her on the show. Upon downloading the song she sang, I listened to it, and I noticed a very strong voice. The song she sang with Group 3, "It's All Coming Back To Me," was one of the songs from the auditions that I listened to over and over. I think she would not have gone very far in the competition, but I think she had a strong, solid voice, and should have been given the chance to go farther than she did.
